Earth Day Art Contest "Go Goodwill Green" -Reuse & Recycle

Sunday (5/1/11)  was the celebration for the contest and held by Goodwill Industries of the Berkshires and Southern Vermont. There were 99 students who entered -way to go kids and thank you parents!
I was lucky enough to serve as a judge.  And let me tell you, it was really hard.  The artwork and messages were right on target! The contest was open to kids in grades K-8.  Make sure you “Like” Goodwill Industries on Facebook so you can participate next year.
Upcycling is so much fun!   And it can be lucrative too!  Last summer my son was tossing out old t-shirts and making a pile for Goodwill.  My brain kicked into overdrive for the pile being tossed.  As an aside, I’m a triathlete and it just so happened that at the time I needed a keychain for when I bike and run. That’s when I came up with the idea to create keychains out of t-shirts was born.
My next project is for Moments House “Pull Up A Chair” Art Show.  I’ll be making a chair in honor of my dad.
